The difference between single shaft shredder and double shaft shredder
Shredders are an indispensable and important existence for the solid waste resource recycling industry. Because the shredder can greatly improve the efficiency of the industry. If you need to buy a shredder equipment, you can first select the material to be crushed according to the function, and select the appropriate model according to the characteristics of the material and the degree of fragility.
However, many people who are in contact with shredders for the first time often confuse single-shaft shredders and double-shaft shredders, and can’t figure out the difference between them. So, today I will list the difference between a shaft shredder and a double shaft shredder for everyone!
(1) Different structure
The double-shaft shredder is mainly a machine composed of shredding blades, carrying box, box support, feeding system, power system, and electrical control system.
The single-shaft (fine) shredder is mainly composed of a main shaft, a blade, a fixed knife, a box, a feeding system, a pushing system, and a power system.
(2) Different knife types
The single-shaft shredder is equipped with only one moving shaft, and the blades are installed on this shaft to form a mutual shear form with the fixed knife on the box. The main shaft is driven by the motor and the reducer, and the material is driven by the spiral blade and enters the gap between the movable knife and the static knife. Because the blade is spiral, the material will be squeezed, torn and sheared at the same time, so that the material can enter the equipment well and complete the work smoothly. The multi-shaft shredder has two moving shafts, both of which are inlaid with blades. The two shafts rotate relative to each other, and the material is operated similarly to a single-shaft shredder.
(3) Different working principles
The double-shaft shear shredder uses the principle of mutual shearing and tearing between two relatively rotating knives to crush materials. Adopting “dual motor + dual planetary reducer”, it has strong power and high running stability. The material enters the inside of the shredding box, which carries a shredding blade, and the material is shredded into small pieces of material through the combined effects of the shredding blade torn, squeezed, and sheared and discharged from the lower part of the box.
The single-shaft shredder utilizes the interaction between the movable knife and the fixed knife, and controls the discharging particle size through a screen to shred, shear, and squeeze the material to a smaller particle size. The material is sent to the blade rotor through the pushing system for crushing, providing large shearing force and ensuring high crushing output. It is often used for the fine crushing of solid waste and can process the material to a smaller particle size at one time.
(4) The difference of crushed materials
The double-shaft shredder has large torque and high crushing efficiency. It is suitable for domestic waste, industrial waste, electronic waste, biomass, kitchen waste, medical waste, wood, and other materials. In the recycling of industrial waste materials, waste materials from electronics manufacturing, wood processing, incineration and destruction of household garbage, and other related industries such as plastic products and glass products can be widely used.
The single-shaft shredder is often used for the fine shredding of various solid wastes, and can process the materials to a smaller particle size at one time. It has the characteristics of small discharging particle size, replaceable screen, wide material applicability, and high efficiency. It is suitable for the disposal of paper mill waste fabrics, leather leftovers, domestic garbage, PE, PP, plastic pipes, plastic films, woven bags, wire and cable cans, aluminum shavings and other aluminum products.
